Quality Counts 2012: The Latest State-by-State Education Report

January 19 --

Do you think only students worry about their grades? Every January, America’s education newspaper of record, Education Week, releases the annual report, Quality Counts, which evaluates the performance of the nation’s education system. In addition to a comprehensive national evaluation, this report also includes state-by-state report cards that measure states on their efforts to improve public education across six areas of policy. Prepared by Editorial Projects in Education’s Research Center, this year’s report also focuses on the global challenge of education in a competitive world.

The Coalition for a College- and Career-Ready America (CCCRA) held a webinar on January 19 about Quality Counts 2012 and take a closer look at states’ education systems and how these report cards can be used by state and local advocates to support reform.

The webinar also featured a timely update on developments in federal education policy that could impact the work being done at the state and local levels. Webinar panelists addressed questions submitted by viewers from across the country.

Once Quality Counts 2012 and the associated state report cards are publicly released on Thursday, January 12, they will be available at www.edweek.org.
